Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of the Fluenxy browser extension and website (getfluenxy.com). By installing the extension or creating an account, you agree to these Terms.

1. The service

Fluenxy is a language-learning tool that injects interactive exercises into YouTube videos and other web pages, including voice recognition and AI-assisted exercise generation.

2. User account

You must be at least 13 years old. In jurisdictions with a higher minimum age, that age applies.
You are responsible for keeping your (Google) credentials secure.
One account = one person. You may not share your account.

3. Free and Premium plans

The free plan provides access to base features with daily limits.
The Premium plan is billed as a monthly subscription via Stripe.
You can cancel at any time via the Stripe Customer Portal. Premium access continues until the end of the paid period. We do not provide pro-rated refunds for partial periods, except where required by applicable law.
We may change prices with 30 days' prior notice, communicated by email.

4. Third-party content (YouTube)

The extension uses only public captions made available by YouTube and does not download or redistribute video. Your use of videos is governed by the YouTube Terms.

5. Acceptable use

You may not:

Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract embedded API keys;
Deliberately overload our servers (DoS attacks, mass scraping);
Use the service to generate illegal, discriminatory, or rights-infringing content;
Resell the service without written authorization.

6. Intellectual property

All code, design, and the Fluenxy brand belong to the team maintaining the project. Content you create yourself (e.g. personal notes, word lists) remains yours. You grant us a limited license to store and display it back to you.

7. Limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is". We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or absolute accuracy of translations/transcriptions. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount paid in the last 12 months for the service.

8. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. You can request deletion of your account at any time at hello@getfluenxy.com.

9. Changes to the Terms

We may modify these Terms. Material changes will be notified by email at least 14 days in advance. Continued use after notification implies acceptance.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by Portuguese law, with venue in the courts of Lisbon, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer rights in your jurisdiction.
